Two arrested for burglary in Columbia County

Austerlitz, New York – On June 16, 2019, the New York State Police arrested Omar Hassan, age 28, of Cortlandt, NY, and Jonathan A. Barham, age 32, of Deer Park, NY, for Burglary in the 3rd degree, a class D felony.
On June 15, 2019, Troopers responded to the Citgo gas station located at 310 Rigor Hill Road in the town of Austerlitz at approximately 7:20 a.m. for a report of a burglary. Investigation found Hassan and Barham illegally entered the building to steal cigarettes, lottery tickets, and money from an automatic teller machine. Hassan and Barham were located, and arrested on June 16, 2019.
Both subjects were arraigned before the town of Greenport Court, and remanded to the Columbia County Jail by the Honorable Judge Porreca without bail. Both subjects are next scheduled to appear before the Austerlitz Court on June 19, 2019, at 10:00 a.m.
