Lloyd
· DWI:Chanize E. Thorpe, 48, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested by state police at Highland at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, and charged with drunken driving and aggravated drunken driving, both misdemeanors. Thorpe was released with tickets for Lloyd Town Court.
· DWI:Phillis J. Simone, 75, of Highland, was arrested by state police at Highland at 2:14 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, and charged with driving with a blood-alcohol content at or exceeding 0.08% and drunken driving, both misdemeanors. Simone was released with tickets for Lloyd Town Court.
Saugerties
· DWI/resisting arrest:John M. Monaghan, 50, of Saugerties, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, and charged with drunken driving and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors. Monaghan was released with tickets for Saugerties Town Court.
Town of Ulster
· Drugs:Kelly A. Ortiz, 34, of Catskill, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, and charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. Ortiz’s status was not immediately available.
Town of Wawarsing
· Assault/possession of dangerous contraband in prison:Kevin O. Rios, 34, Wilbur A. Jandres, 38, and Aleides Gomez, 39, all prisoners at the Eastern Correctional Facility in Napanoch, were arrested by state police at Wawarsing at about 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9. Rios was charged with assault with a weapon and possession of dangerous contraband in prison, both felonies. Jandres and Gomez were each charged with possession of dangerous contraband in prison, a felony. Rios is serving a 25-to-life sentence for rape; Jandres is serving 16 years to life for murder; and Gomez is serving 15 years to life for murder. All three prisoners were returned to prison pending appearances in Wawarsing Town Court.
