Man Acquitted in 2018 Murder Case Arrested
A man acquitted after a 2019 trial for the murder of 19 year old Inderly Instinfil, has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his mother on Easter.
On April 13, 2020, at approximately 8:01 pm , the City of Hudson Police Department arrested 29
year old, Mohammad H Morshed and his younger brother, 19 year old Shimran Alam both of
Hudson.
On April 13, 2020, the City of Hudson Police Department received an emergency call from
Columbia County 911 reporting a physical domestic dispute that had just occurred at a residence
located on Fairview Avenue. Hudson Police arrived on scene immediately after the 911 call. It was reported to police that the two brothers had a verbal argument that turned into a physical fight. .Alam was reported to be angry at his brother for allegedly assaulting their mother a day earlier, and was threatening his Morshed with a broom handle. HPD learned that their mother had sustained injuries to her face and left eye after Morshed allegedly struck her with a coffee mug. Morshed was subsequently arrested for that attack.
Mohammad Morshed was arrested on two class D felony charges. Assault 2 nd Degree, intent to
cause physical injury with a weapon and criminal possession of a weapon 3 rd Degree, (previous conviction).
Shimran Alam was arrested on two class A misdemeanor charges. Criminal possession of a
weapon 4 th Degree and Menacing 2 nd Degree.
Morshed was arraigned before Hudson City Court Judge John Connor and bail was set at 2,000 cash / 5,000 bond. He is to appear in Columbia County Court on April 16, 2020 at 830am.
Alam was also arraigned before Judge Connor. Alam was released on his own recognizance.
He is due back to the Hudson City Court on May 19, 2020 at 830am. A temporary Order
of Protection was issued
