NYSP Wall of Honor - Trooper David J. Lane was tragically killed on November 4, 2009 on State Route 32, in the Town of Catskill, Greene County, while enforcing the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Trooper Lane was traveling north on State Route 32, attempting to catch up to a speeder. Trooper Lane attempted to pass another vehicle that suddenly turned left and the two vehicles made contact, causing him to lose control of the vehicle as it left the roadway. Trooper Lane was killed instantly when his vehicle struck a utility pole.
Trooper Lane entered the New York State Police on September 26, 2005, and was assigned to Troop F, SP Catskill. He was 30 years old.
