Shots Fired/gun and drugs recovered by Police

On October 15, 2019, the Hudson City Police Department arrested a 16 year old adolescent

from Hudson on Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a class C felony, Criminal Possession of a weapon 3rd Degree (Defaced Weapon), a class D felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, a class A misdemeanor and unlawful possession of marijuana.

On October 15, 2019, at approximately 12:15 am, the City of Hudson Police Department received two calls for a report of gunshots in the area of the 200 block of State Street. Hudson Police patrols responded to the area within one minute to investigate. While police were interviewing possible witnesses and searching the area for evidence, the patrol on scene heard another gunshot in the area of the 300 block of Columbia Street.

Officers conducted a field interview of a 16 year old adolescent male located in the 300 block of Prison Alley. The subject was in possession of an illegal 9mm handgun. The serial numbers on the hand gun was filed off and obliterated. He was also in possession of 5(five) 9mm ammunition rounds, illegal narcotic drugs (pills), marijuana, and a small amount of cash at the time of the arrest.

The adolescent offender was arraigned in Columbia County Family Court by Judge Koweek. He was released to his mother and is due back in County Court on October 23, 2019 at 4pm.

The Hudson Police Department was assisted by the New York State Police and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department.
