Narrative of What Occurred:

On August 24, 2019 Saugerties Police received a complaint regarding a missing cat.

Through an investigation and interviews conducted by police, the investigating officer establish that 48-year-old Joseph M. Gambichler of Mount Marion Park, had trapped his neighbor’s feline and then took the cat several miles away from the owner’s home, reportedly leaving the cat in an field.

A search of the area Gambichler reportedly left the cat was unsuccessful in locating the feline.

On September 5, 2019 Saugerties Police arrested Gambichler , charging him with the Misdemeanor of Petit Larceny. Incidental to processing, Gambichler was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Town of Saugerties Justice Court on September 18, 2019 to answer his charge.
