Stephentown man arrested for shooting pickup truck in New Lebanon

New Lebanon, New York – On September3, 2019 the New York State Police from the New Lebanon and Livingston barracks arrested Robert K. King, age 52, of Stephentown, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree, a class C felony, Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd degree, and Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree, both class A misdemeanors.

On September 3, 2019, at approximately 6:55 p.m., Troopers were dispatched to a residence on State Route 22 for a report of a bullet hole in the caller’s vehicle. Investigation found King fired a shot from a Heckler and Koch P7 9MM handgun despite not having a pistol permit for the weapon, and knew a residence was within his line of fire.

King was arraigned before the town of New Lebanon Court, and remanded by the Honorable Judge Nevers to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or secure bond. King is next scheduled to appear before the Court on September 6, 2019, at 10:00 a.m.
