Press Release

Man with Gun Shot Wound

On Monday, July 22, 2019, at approximately 10:05pm, the Hudson City Police Department received a call from the Columbia Memorial Hospital Emergency Room that a 26 year old Chatham man was being treated there for a gunshot wound to his leg.

HPD Patrol Units responded to the Emergency Room to investigate. Officers confirmed that the man had suffered an entry and exit wound to his leg. He was combative to police as well as hospital staff and refused to give any information as to where or how he suffered the wound. He was released from CMH around 3am.

Police canvassed neighborhoods and learned that several residents of the 200 block of State Street had thought that they heard a gunshot in that neighborhood earlier that evening. No report was made to police at that time.

HPD is currently investigating the above incident. Anyone who has any further information they would like to share with the police, please contact the Hudson City Police Department, Detective Division, at (518) 828 3388.
