4 Columbia County communities on list for losing population

The annual list of the 50 upstate New York communities, that lost population over the past year has been released.

This year four Columbia County communities were on the list:

#49 Kinderhook, village (Columbia County)

Decrease since 2010: -6.2% (-75)

Change since 2017: -1.0% (-12)

Population in 2018: 1135

#20 Philmont, village (Columbia County)

Decrease since 2010: -7.1% (-97)

Change since 2017: -1.1% (-14)

Population in 2018: 1272

#12 Chatham, village (Columbia County)

Decrease since 2010: -7.7% (-136)

Change since 2017: -1.1% (-19)

Population in 2018: 1635

#7 Hudson, city (Columbia County)

Decrease since 2010: -8.6% (-578)

Change since 2017: -0.9% (-57)

Population in 2018: 6144
